REVIEW: MAC Cremesheen Lipstick in Japanese Maple

MAC Cremesheen Lipstick in Japanese Maple

Japanese Maple

Japanese Maple is a subtle beige nude with slightly orange undertones and a semi-opaque coverage. Therefore leading me into my first problem with this lipstick- you will need a lipliner with this, otherwise you end up with a darker colour around the outside of your lips and a nude colour in the middle (not sexy). If you like the colour but want it more pigmented, prime your lips with a light layer of foundation before you apply the lipstick. Japanese Maple is part of the Cremesheen+Pearl collection from MAC- which means it contains crushed pearl for a really shiny finish. My second problem with this lipstick is the fact that it isn't long lasting, I can probably get about 30-45 minutes wear out of it before I need to reapply which is annoying. BUT the high shine within the lipstick makes it very glossy and gives the lips a healthy appearance. Overall, I do really like the colour of this lipstick as its an easy daytime and night-time colour. If you don't mind having to reapply often and are nifty with a lipliner you'll get along well with Japanese Maple.
